Cool Kids Cook Radio Show #89 – Interview with Russell van Kraayenburg

Our two-year anniversary special guest is Russell van Kraayenburg, Author of Haute Dogs.
Born and raised in Texas, Russell van Kraayenburg may sit you down for a stern lecture if he hears you confusing barbecue with grilling. His award-winning blogs, Chasing Delicious and The Boys Club have been featured on The Kitchn, Fast Company Design, Saveur’s Best Food Blog Awards, and Southern Living magazine. He is also the founder of Kitchen 101, the educational culinary infographic series.

Here is a fun kitchen-related craft. Today’s kitchen craft is how to make a “Twine and Wine Bottle Vine.”

Supplies:
1 Empty and Clean Wine Bottle
1 roll of jute twine
Mod Podge glue
Small paint brush
Scissors

Instructions:
Step 1: Starting at the bottom of the bottle, paint a thin layer of Mod Podge around the base, creating a band of glue.
Step 2: Attach the jute twine to the bottom of the side of the bottle.
Step 3: Begin wrapping the? twine by turning the the top of the bottle with one hand while guiding the twine around.
Step 4: Repeat steps one and three until you reach the top of the bottle. Cut the twine and secure the end with Mod Podge glue.
Step 5: Glue a decorative object onto the bottle such as a charm, a sea shell, or some twigs and place in a prominent area for everyone to enjoy
