Hey Young Chefs!
On Days 2-4, we filmed at the studio. I can’t say much about the cooking competition because it’s secretive. I can tell you that one of the celebrity chefs is Carla Hall who competed on Top Chef and has a show called The Chew. She is really nice!
These are some of the contestants I competed against. Everyone was super friendly!
The producers let us go early on Day 4, so I got to meet my mom’s best friend for the first time! I call her Auntie Fe. She visited us all the way from California!
We took a short nap then went to Eataly, an Italian market created by Chef Mario Batali. There was so much fresh produce and vegetables I didn’t know that existed like white eggplant!
They had lots of cheeses, salami, homemade pasta, and freshly baked bread. I even bought some dry pasta to cook the next day.
At first, we made reservations for dinner to one of his restaurants there to eat some handmade pasta. But we decided to eat prosciutto and mozzarella on focaccia bread and a smoked ham, fresh ricotta, and arugula sandwich from the bakery.
And as for dessert… We had a sweet milk gelato and a rich and thick traditional Italian hot chocolate known as “ciocolatta.”
I had fun in the studio and had an awesome time in Eataly!
Cool Kids Cook and Go to Eataly!
